If you want to learn a programming language in it’s 5th generation and is also the language behind almost every piece of commercial software written in the past 20+ years, then pop over to http://www.penguinprogrammer.co.uk/c-beginners-tutorial
It is beyond an IDOTS guide because everything is explained at the correct time, rather than a 89,000 page introduction thanking the universes contribution and half explaining the entire language, filling your head with information you need not know yet.
So if you actually want that game design job in Belgium, then I suggest learning C++ as it is an industry standard.
